• It should reduce the amount of food waste going into landfills
• Be innovative and think outside the box
• It must not negatively impact the environment
• Think about long term benefits

• It needs to be easy to use
• It needs to be small scale and inexpensive
• It should look attractive
• Only use the tools and materials available to you
• Record your thinking as you go- your research, design notes and reflections on the activity
